Uruguay enjoys a privileged geographical position that allows it to be a leading country in the production of wines. It is located between the 30th and 35th parallels (south latitude), as the best wine-growing areas of Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Its clay soil, the balanced regime of sun, rains and temperatures are optimal conditions for the growth of the vineyards, which without the need for irrigation rest in their gently undulating lands.

Lovers of fine wine will find in Uruguay, a wide variety of wineries that offer guided tours, tastings and special parties. All the seasons of the year have a peculiar charm for the practice of Enotourism in Uruguay. For example, in March, the main tourist wineries of the country open their doors to share the best of their harvests during the Harvest Festival.

During this party, visitors can have a quick introduction to productive activity and equipped with scissors and basket, experience by their own means, the pleasure of harvesting. In winter, between May and June, the tourist wineries propose to enjoy one of the most traditional and perfect pairings: lamb and Tannat, as well as various artistic numbers and activities that complement the winemaking proposals.
